Best Hike From Big Bear Village Area - Big Bear Lake, CA ( GPS MAP Pictures )
Elevation: Start Lake Level 6700ft. Go up to 500ft higher.
Distance: 2-3 miles! Also a great snowshoe area!

From the Village, walk up Knickerbocker Road and you will find a dirt fire road just after the Knickerbocker B&B. If the walk up the street tired you out, its going to get steeper. maybe you would find a flatter walk better. Consider the Alpine Pedal Path or Woodland Trail. A short 1/4 mile walk (depending on your fitness) up a steep hill and you will come to a 180 degree turn in the road. From here you can take the Towne Trail east between some rocks for another 1+ mile of mostly level trail that goes to the Snow Summit ski resort base area. Or continue up the steep road which eventually gets less steep and in 20 minutes to an hour you will come to fantastic viewpoints. Return the way you came.
